Tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda alterar el desplazamiento diario de miles de pasajeros. GO Transit advirti\u00f3 que las altas temperaturas podr\u00edan provocar retrasos en algunas de sus rutas ferroviarias durante los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aunque para muchos latinoamericanos pueda parecer extra\u00f1o, el calor extremo puede afectar el funcionamiento de los trenes. Cuando las temperaturas aumentan de forma considerable, los rieles de acero se expanden. Si los trenes circulan a la velocidad habitual, esa expansi\u00f3n puede generar mayores esfuerzos sobre la infraestructura y aumentar el riesgo de deformaciones en la v\u00eda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para reducir ese riesgo, los operadores ferroviarios suelen implementar <\/span><b>restricciones temporales de velocidad<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. En otras palabras, los trenes contin\u00faan funcionando, pero recorren algunos tramos m\u00e1s lentamente, lo que puede traducirse en retrasos de varios minutos durante el trayecto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GO Transit inform\u00f3 que esta medida podr\u00eda aplicarse en diferentes l\u00edneas de su red mientras persistan las temperaturas extremas y recomend\u00f3 a los usuarios consultar el estado del servicio antes de iniciar su viaje, especialmente durante las horas de mayor calor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La situaci\u00f3n puede sorprender a quienes llegaron recientemente al pa\u00eds. En Am\u00e9rica Latina es com\u00fan asociar los problemas ferroviarios con lluvias intensas o fallas mec\u00e1nicas, pero en Canad\u00e1 el clima representa un desaf\u00edo durante todo el a\u00f1o. As\u00ed como en invierno la nieve, el hielo y las bajas temperaturas pueden afectar la operaci\u00f3n de los trenes, durante el verano el calor extremo tambi\u00e9n obliga a tomar precauciones para garantizar la seguridad del servicio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para quienes utilizan GO Transit para desplazarse diariamente entre ciudades como Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Hamilton, Oshawa o Barrie, la recomendaci\u00f3n es salir con algo m\u00e1s de tiempo del habitual, especialmente si deben hacer conexiones con el TTC u otros sistemas de transporte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los pasajeros tambi\u00e9n pueden consultar actualizaciones en tiempo real a trav\u00e9s de la p\u00e1gina web de GO Transit, la aplicaci\u00f3n oficial y las redes sociales del servicio, donde se informan posibles demoras, cambios operativos y recomendaciones para cada l\u00ednea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las autoridades recordaron adem\u00e1s que las altas temperaturas pueden representar un riesgo para la salud, especialmente para adultos mayores, ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os y personas con enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas.
