Los estudiantes de s\u00e9ptimo a noveno grado reportaron el mayor consumo, e incluso se registraron casos de inicio a los 10 a\u00f1os de edad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El texto destaca que opioides como la hidromorfona, recetada para el dolor, est\u00e1n siendo utilizados como drogas recreativas entre adolescentes, quienes los perciben err\u00f3neamente como m\u00e1s seguros que las drogas il\u00edcitas. Sin embargo, advierte que los j\u00f3venes enfrentan riesgo de sobredosis ante un suministro de drogas cada vez m\u00e1s t\u00f3xico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En Ontario, el 9% de las visitas a urgencias relacionadas con opioides en 2021 correspondieron a personas entre 15 y 24 a\u00f1os, y este grupo represent\u00f3 el 8% de las muertes asociadas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El editorial llama a fortalecer la capacitaci\u00f3n de m\u00e9dicos y pediatras para que puedan detectar el consumo temprano y prescribir tratamientos como metadona o buprenorfina\/naloxona, f\u00e1rmacos que reducen los s\u00edntomas de abstinencia y los antojos.
