Durante su discurso ante los manifestantes, el mandatario calific\u00f3 al primer ministro israel\u00ed, Benjamin Netanyahu, de \u00abgenocida\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Petro, quien ha sido un firme defensor de la causa palestina, afirm\u00f3 el mi\u00e9rcoles: \u201cMa\u00f1ana se romper\u00e1n las relaciones diplom\u00e1ticas con el Estado de Israel (&#8230;) por tener un presidente genocida\u201d. Esta decisi\u00f3n ha sido recibida con fuertes muestras de apoyo por parte de la multitud, que coreaba consignas en solidaridad con Palestina.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El presidente colombiano tambi\u00e9n hizo un llamado a la comunidad internacional a no permanecer pasiva ante los acontecimientos en Gaza, instando a tomar medidas para detener la violencia y proteger los derechos humanos en la regi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Reacci\u00f3n de Israel<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En respuesta, el ministro de Asuntos Exteriores israel\u00ed, Israel Katz, acus\u00f3 a Petro de ser \u00abantisemita y lleno de odio\u00bb, y argument\u00f3 que esta medida era una recompensa para el grupo armado Hamas, responsable de ataques contra bases y comunidades militares israel\u00edes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta no es la primera vez que Petro amenaza con romper relaciones diplom\u00e1ticas con Israel. Ya en octubre del a\u00f1o pasado hab\u00eda expresado su intenci\u00f3n de tomar esta medida si Israel no cumpl\u00eda con la resoluci\u00f3n de cese el fuego en Gaza pedida por el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La guerra en Gaza ha sido un tema recurrente en las cr\u00edticas de Petro hacia Israel.
