{"id":26091,"date":"2026-02-20T13:43:34","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T18:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thespanishmedia.com\/?p=26091"},"modified":"2026-02-20T13:43:34","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T18:43:34","slug":"se-disparan-las-hospitalizaciones-por-neumonia-que-esta-pasando","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thespanishmedia.com\/pt\/se-disparan-las-hospitalizaciones-por-neumonia-que-esta-pasando\/","title":{"rendered":"Se disparan las hospitalizaciones por neumon\u00eda: \u00bfqu\u00e9 est\u00e1 pasando?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En el \u00faltimo reporte del Instituto Canadiense de Informaci\u00f3n Sanitaria (CIHI) publicado el jueves, se observa que en la temporada de gripe 2024-2025 se registr\u00f3 un dr\u00e1stico incremento de los casos de neumon\u00eda, lo que llev\u00f3 a triplicar el n\u00famero de hospitalizaciones debido a esta infecci\u00f3n respiratoria, en comparaci\u00f3n con la temporada anterior.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La neumon\u00eda es una infecci\u00f3n en uno de los pulmones o en ambos, que causa la inflamaci\u00f3n y acumulaci\u00f3n de l\u00edquido, es causada por peque\u00f1os g\u00e9rmenes, como bacterias, virus y hongos. La neumon\u00eda se puede prevenir a menudo y la mayor\u00eda de las personas se recupera, sin embargo, es considerada de cuidado pues en algunos casos puede ser mortal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seg\u00fan los datos del informe del CIHI, los ni\u00f1os y adolescentes de entre cinco y 17 a\u00f1os han sido especialmente afectados durante ese periodo, con un incremento de m\u00e1s del doble en las hospitalizaciones por neumon\u00eda en relaci\u00f3n al periodo precedente. Un factor clave del aumento repentino de casos, puede haber sido la grave temporada de gripe del a\u00f1o pasado.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26102 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thespanishmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/europapress-6253707-urgencias-hospital-san-pedro.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1440\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>Las cifras del Instituto Canadiense de Informaci\u00f3n Sanitaria<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El CIHI reporta datos de hospitalizaciones por neumon\u00eda entre el 1 de abril de 2024 y el 31 de marzo de 2025. Las hospitalizaciones de ni\u00f1os y j\u00f3venes aumentaron un 143% con respecto al anterior y en el caso de los adultos, las hospitalizaciones tambi\u00e9n aumentaron, alcanzando el 34% en personas de 18 a 64 a\u00f1os. Asimismo, hubo un incremento en las hospitalizaciones de personas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os, que lleg\u00f3 al 22%, se\u00f1ala el informe.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Qu\u00e9 dicen los especialistas<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El m\u00e9dico especialista en enfermedades infecciosas del Hospital Infantil de Montreal, Dr. Jesse Papenburg, sostiene que las cifras dadas a conocer por el CIHI corroboran lo que m\u00e9dicos y enfermeras ya hab\u00edan notado, es decir, que se trataba de una temporada particularmente intensa en lo que se refiere a esta enfermedad que afecta a los pulmones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para el Dr. Papenburg, la infecci\u00f3n por influenza puede tambi\u00e9n provocar neumon\u00eda bacteriana, pues afecta las c\u00e9lulas del tracto respiratorio, as\u00ed como facilita la entrada de bacterias. En algunos casos los pacientes creen que tienen influenza, luego sienten que est\u00e1n empezando a mejorar y a sentirse bien y de repente empeoran mucho, relat\u00f3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por su parte, la especialista en enfermedades infecciosas de la Universidad de Alberta, Dra. Lynora Saxinger, asever\u00f3 que adem\u00e1s de la gripe m\u00e1s severa, los casos de neumon\u00eda podr\u00edan estar aumentando debido a la posible circulaci\u00f3n de diferentes cepas de bacterias contra las que no se desarroll\u00f3 inmunidad durante la pasada pandemia del COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La especialista considera tambi\u00e9n, que otro factor que puede estar influyendo en el aumento de las hospitalizaciones por neumon\u00eda, sea el inusual incremento el a\u00f1o pasado de casos de la denominada neumon\u00eda at\u00edpica, principalmente entre ni\u00f1os.
