El jefe del Servicio de la Polic\u00eda de Toronto (TPS), Myron Demkiw, asever\u00f3 que llevan m\u00e1s de dos a\u00f1os alertando sobre este problema.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El oficial Demkiw, relat\u00f3 que su corporaci\u00f3n ha constatado un dr\u00e1stico aumento en el n\u00famero de j\u00f3venes involucrados en delitos, as\u00ed como muchos de ellos han sido arrestados portando armas de fuego de manera ilegal. Asimismo, en 2025, m\u00e1s de una docena de j\u00f3venes han sido acusados en investigaciones de asesinatos en la ciudad de Toronto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El jefe de la corporaci\u00f3n a\u00f1adi\u00f3 que la tendencia de los j\u00f3venes de participar en delitos graves no se puede ignorar y que el momento de actuar es ahora. Demkiw, dijo que es vital proteger a nuestros j\u00f3venes, sobre todo de la violencia de las armas de fuego. La responsabilidad no es s\u00f3lo de la polic\u00eda, es del conjunto de la sociedad, dijo la autoridad.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Las razones del incremento de la violencia juvenil<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para el oficial Paul Krawczyk, Comandante de Unidad del Grupo de Trabajo contra Armas y Pandillas, el n\u00famero de arrestos de j\u00f3venes por el porte de armas de fuego, ha aumentado significativamente en los \u00faltimos cinco a\u00f1os. La TPS ve con preocupaci\u00f3n esa tendencia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entre los m\u00faltiples factores que contribuyen a esta situaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 una supuesta indulgencia de los tribunales, que permitir\u00eda que muchos j\u00f3venes est\u00e9n siendo utilizados con mayor frecuencia para cometer delitos. Las fianzas pedidas para su libertad, ser\u00edan accesibles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Krawczyk asegura que la Ley de Justicia Penal Juvenil, establece sentencias m\u00e1ximas mucho menores que las de los adultos y que desde la perspectiva de las pandillas callejeras no tener que pagar tanto para acceder a su libertad, podr\u00eda funcionar como un incentivo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Otro factor ser\u00eda el conocimiento de la tecnolog\u00eda y el uso de las redes sociales que podr\u00eda servirles para que puedan comunicarse m\u00e1s f\u00e1cilmente, dar indicaciones, es decir, hacerlo todo desde su dispositivo m\u00f3vil. Sin contar que estas redes muestran a todo momento fajos de dinero, lo que vendr\u00eda influenciando en la atracci\u00f3n de los pandilleros m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes, dice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Las responsabilidades de la polic\u00eda<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El comandante Paul Krawczyk, manifest\u00f3 que el papel de la polic\u00eda en el manejo de la violencia con armas de fuego y de las pandillas no se restringe a la aplicaci\u00f3n de la ley. Destac\u00f3 que los miembros del grupo de trabajo de prevenci\u00f3n de pandillas est\u00e1n totalmente comprometidos en alejar a los j\u00f3venes de las actividades pandilleras y delictivas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Una de sus funciones es ofrecer a los j\u00f3venes que han cometido delitos un asesoramiento personalizado para que puedan acceder a la ayuda que necesitan.
