Estas enfermedades, responsables de 43 millones de muertes anuales, representan la principal causa de mortalidad a nivel global.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El nuevo informe de la agencia de la ONU, titulado \u201cSalvar vidas, gastar menos\u201d subraya que incluso incrementos modestos en la inversi\u00f3n permitir\u00edan salvar millones de vidas y generar hasta un bill\u00f3n de d\u00f3lares en beneficios econ\u00f3micos. La OMS estima que 18 millones de los fallecimientos asociados a ENT cada a\u00f1o corresponden a personas menores de 70 a\u00f1os, mientras que cientos de millones m\u00e1s viven con al menos una de estas enfermedades.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Progreso detenido y brechas econ\u00f3micas<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entre 2010 y 2019, casi todos los pa\u00edses registraron avances en la reducci\u00f3n de la carga de las ENT. Sin embargo, el informe destaca que el progreso \u201cse ha desacelerado significativamente en la mayor\u00eda de las regiones\u201d durante los \u00faltimos cuatro a\u00f1os. Entre los factores que explican este retroceso figuran la disminuci\u00f3n de la asistencia internacional para el desarrollo en salud, el aumento de la deuda en numerosos pa\u00edses y la incertidumbre geopol\u00edtica que ha desplazado prioridades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La OMS advierte que el 75% de las muertes por ENT y problemas de salud mental se producen en pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medianos, que enfrentan limitaciones adicionales para sostener inversiones en sistemas sanitarios. Actualmente, m\u00e1s de mil millones de personas en el mundo viven con condiciones de salud mental, lo que agrava los desaf\u00edos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El organismo recomienda fortalecer intervenciones de alto impacto y bajo costo, como aumentar los impuestos al tabaco y al alcohol, restringir la publicidad nociva dirigida a menores y mejorar el control de la hipertensi\u00f3n.
