Adem\u00e1s, el 10% super\u00f3 el umbral de 6 microgramos por gramo, asociado con enfermedades m\u00e1s severas.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00bfQu\u00e9 problemas causa el mercurio?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El mercurio, utilizado ampliamente en la miner\u00eda ilegal para procesar el oro, contamina tanto a los ind\u00edgenas como a los peces de la zona, que son una parte importante de su dieta. La ingesti\u00f3n de pescados con altos niveles de mercurio es una de las principales v\u00edas de exposici\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los efectos en la salud de la exposici\u00f3n al mercurio incluyen desde menor sensibilidad en las extremidades y debilidad general hasta problemas m\u00e1s graves como da\u00f1o al sistema nervioso central y problemas de movilidad. La exposici\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica al mercurio se produce de manera progresiva y puede causar una amplia gama de s\u00edntomas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El informe, que a\u00fan no ha sido revisado por pares, sintetiza tres estudios recientes publicados en la revista Toxics, todos basados en el mismo trabajo de campo.
