Hoy llega a Toronto. Canad\u00e1 enfrenta a Bosnia-Herzegovina a las 3 de la tarde en BMO Field, el primer partido mundialista en suelo canadiense de toda la historia. Para decenas de miles de inmigrantes latinoamericanos que viven en esta ciudad, este torneo no es solo f\u00fatbol. Es el idioma compartido. Y durante cinco semanas, tambi\u00e9n es una ciudad que va a funcionar diferente.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00bfC\u00f3mo cambia Toronto mientras dura el torneo?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lake Shore Boulevard, una de las arterias principales hacia el frente costero, cierra en d\u00edas de partido entre British Columbia Road y Bathurst Street. Fleet Street queda bloqueada durante todo el torneo. Los vecindarios de Liberty Village y Fort York, los m\u00e1s pr\u00f3ximos a BMO Field y a la Zona de Fan\u00e1ticos oficial se convierten en zonas de acceso restringido a residentes locales en d\u00edas de partido.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los cierres comienzan cinco horas antes del pitazo inicial y se mantienen hasta tres horas despu\u00e9s del final. Los horarios de mayor congesti\u00f3n se esperan entre las 3 y las 7 de la tarde. Para quienes se desplazan en auto por ese corredor en d\u00edas de partido, la opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s realista es no intentarlo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El TTC refuerza sus rutas. El tranv\u00eda King corre cada cuatro minutos en hora pico, la l\u00ednea Harbourfront cada siete, y Bathurst cada cinco. El transporte p\u00fablico es, sin discusi\u00f3n, el mejor camino hacia BMO Field y hacia la zona del festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es la FIFA Fan Festival y c\u00f3mo funciona?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Zona de Fan\u00e1ticos oficial de FIFA se instal\u00f3 bajo los arcos de concreto del Gardiner Expressway, extendida a lo largo del Fort York National Historic Site y The Bentway: 43 acres al aire libre, a pasos del lago y a caminata de BMO Field. Hay pantallas gigantes para los 104 partidos del torneo, m\u00fasica en vivo, vendedores de comida y entrada gratuita con registro previo en Ticketmaster. Capacidad por d\u00eda: 20,000 personas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adidas instal\u00f3 su propia activaci\u00f3n en STACKT Market. La ciudad tiene tambi\u00e9n decenas de bares y restaurantes que transmiten los partidos, con concentraciones naturales en Little Portugal, Corso Italia y el corredor de St. Clair West.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vale la pena tener en cuenta, que los eventos organizados por el FIFA fan festival, pueden ser sujetos a cancelaci\u00f3n como ya se vio ayer por cuenta de las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas. Es importante que esto sea tenido en cuenta y revisar el pronostico del tiempo para tomar la decisi\u00f3n de estar o no estar en estos eventos para ir a ver los partidos.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00bfC\u00f3mo vive el Mundial la comunidad latina de Toronto?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Muchos restaurantes de College Street, St. Clair West y Danforth ya tienen los horarios de partido pegados en la puerta desde hace semanas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Con 48 selecciones en el torneo, pr\u00e1cticamente cada pa\u00eds de Am\u00e9rica Latina tiene representaci\u00f3n. Eso significa que durante cinco semanas, del 11 de junio al 19 de julio\u00a0 habr\u00e1 partidos para casi cada comunidad. Cuando juega un equipo latinoamericano, los bares y plazas que sirven a esa comunidad se transforman. En 2022, el corredor de College con Bathurst era irreconocible los d\u00edas que jugaba M\u00e9xico.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>El otro lado de la Copa<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Mundial tambi\u00e9n trae fricciones pr\u00e1cticas que pesan de manera desproporcionada sobre quienes ya tienen los m\u00e1rgenes m\u00e1s ajustados. Quienes viven en Liberty Village o Fort York van a lidiar con restricciones de acceso vehicular durante semanas. Quienes trabajan en el sector de servicios cerca de BMO Field encontrar\u00e1n que llegar en d\u00edas de partido toma el doble. Los trabajadores de delivery, construcci\u00f3n o cuidado de personas mayores que dependen del auto enfrentan desv\u00edos que no estaban en su plan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto sabe c\u00f3mo organizar eventos de escala. Los Juegos Panamericanos, el G20, el All-Star de la NBA. Pero esta es la Copa del Mundo, 104 partidos, 48 selecciones, millones de fan\u00e1ticos de todo el planeta.
