La agencia de la ONU advirti\u00f3 que la cifra real probablemente es mayor debido a los recortes de financiaci\u00f3n que han limitado el acceso humanitario y el seguimiento de muertes en zonas remotas y de tr\u00e1nsito irregular.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El organismo se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el cierre o la reducci\u00f3n de v\u00edas legales para migrar est\u00e1 empujando a m\u00e1s personas hacia redes de contrabando y trata, en un contexto en el que Europa, Estados Unidos y otras regiones han intensificado las pol\u00edticas de disuasi\u00f3n y control fronterizo. La combinaci\u00f3n de menos opciones seguras y mayores barreras ha incrementado la exposici\u00f3n de los migrantes a viajes por mar y desierto, con altos riesgos de naufragios, deshidrataci\u00f3n y violencia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26250\" src=\"https:\/\/thespanishmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/9cdc620743cbfd850fc8b475cbc0e3a8.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>Rutas mar\u00edtimas concentran el mayor n\u00famero de v\u00edctimas<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aunque las muertes registradas en rutas migratorias descendieron a 7.667 en 2025 desde cerca de 9.200 en 2024, la OIM advirti\u00f3 que esta reducci\u00f3n no implica necesariamente un entorno m\u00e1s seguro, sino que refleja en parte una menor capacidad para recopilar informaci\u00f3n por falta de recursos y acceso. La agencia, con sede en Ginebra, indic\u00f3 que los recortes de financiaci\u00f3n en Estados Unidos han obligado a reducir o cerrar programas clave, lo que afecta directamente la protecci\u00f3n y el monitoreo de personas en movimiento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las rutas mar\u00edtimas siguieron siendo las m\u00e1s letales. En el Mediterr\u00e1neo se registraron al menos 2.108 personas muertas o desaparecidas en 2025, mientras que 1.047 perdieron la vida en la ruta atl\u00e1ntica hacia las Islas Canarias. En Asia se contabilizaron alrededor de 3.000 muertes de migrantes, m\u00e1s de la mitad de personas afganas. En el Cuerno de \u00c1frica, 922 personas murieron al cruzar desde Yemen hacia los Estados del Golfo, un aumento marcado frente al a\u00f1o anterior, con numerosos fallecimientos vinculados a grandes naufragios de embarcaciones precarias.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La tendencia mortal continu\u00f3 en 2026.
