Esta situaci\u00f3n refleja un avance sostenido de la resistencia antimicrobiana a nivel mundial, asociada al uso masivo e inadecuado de antibi\u00f3ticos en humanos, animales y alimentos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las bacterias resistentes a los antimicrobianos son responsables directas de m\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de muertes y contribuyen a casi cinco millones cada a\u00f1o, lo que representa una amenaza creciente para la salud p\u00fablica global.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>La resistencia aumenta en infecciones comunes<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El informe de vigilancia de la OMS analiz\u00f3 22 antibi\u00f3ticos utilizados para tratar infecciones del tracto urinario, gastrointestinal, del torrente sangu\u00edneo y la gonorrea. En los \u00faltimos cinco a\u00f1os, la resistencia aument\u00f3 en m\u00e1s del 40 por ciento de los f\u00e1rmacos monitoreados, con un crecimiento anual promedio de entre el 5 y el 15 por ciento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En el caso de las infecciones urinarias, la resistencia a los antibi\u00f3ticos de uso com\u00fan super\u00f3 el 30 por ciento a nivel mundial. Tambi\u00e9n se registraron niveles elevados de resistencia en pat\u00f3genos como Escherichia coli y Klebsiella pneumoniae, causantes de infecciones graves del torrente sangu\u00edneo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La OMS se\u00f1al\u00f3 que la mayor resistencia se concentra en regiones con sistemas de salud m\u00e1s fr\u00e1giles y con menor vigilancia, como el Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico, el Mediterr\u00e1neo Oriental y \u00c1frica. En estas zonas, entre una de cada tres y una de cada cinco infecciones registradas son resistentes a los tratamientos convencionales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aunque se han logrado avances en los sistemas de monitoreo, casi la mitad de los pa\u00edses a\u00fan no reporta datos sobre resistencia antimicrobiana.
