Si las partes no confirman por escrito que desean extenderlo, el tratado expira en 2036.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La revisi\u00f3n no es una renegociaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica, pero s\u00ed abre la puerta a modificaciones. En el contexto actual de tensiones arancelarias con Estados Unidos, esta fecha tiene un peso pol\u00edtico enorme para Canad\u00e1.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00bfQu\u00e9 busca Trump en esta negociaci\u00f3n?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La administraci\u00f3n Trump no solo quiere hablar de comercio. Seg\u00fan analistas y documentos del Congreso estadounidense, Washington buscar\u00e1 concesiones adicionales en temas de migraci\u00f3n, tr\u00e1fico de drogas y gasto en defensa continental.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trump ya impuso aranceles del 25% a productos canadienses, con excepci\u00f3n del petr\u00f3leo, gravado al 10%. Carney ha admitido que es poco probable lograr un acuerdo sin que subsistan algunos aranceles.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el consejo asesor que crea Carney?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El nuevo panel reunir\u00e1 a grandes empresarios, representantes laborales y ex funcionarios con experiencia en comercio internacional. Su objetivo es asesorar al gobierno federal en la estrategia de negociaci\u00f3n antes y durante la revisi\u00f3n del T-MEC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La medida busca mostrar unidad nacional en un momento en que la econom\u00eda canadiense ya acumula 112,000 empleos perdidos en lo que va de 2026, en gran parte por el impacto de los aranceles estadounidenses.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00bfQu\u00e9 significa esto para los trabajadores inmigrantes?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El resultado de la revisi\u00f3n del T-MEC afectar\u00e1 directamente sectores que emplean a miles de inmigrantes: manufactura, automotriz, acero, aluminio y agricultura.
