Las remesas son, para buena parte de la regi\u00f3n, una red de seguridad invisible. Por eso, cuando el Fondo Monetario Internacional y el Banco Mundial publican sus perspectivas econ\u00f3micas, la comunidad hispana en Canad\u00e1 tiene razones para prestar atenci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Menos crecimiento del esperado<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En su actualizaci\u00f3n conjunta de abril de 2026, el FMI y el Banco Mundial proyectan que Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe crecer\u00e1n este a\u00f1o a un ritmo inferior al del a\u00f1o pasado. El pron\u00f3stico general sit\u00faa el avance regional por debajo del dos por ciento, una cifra considerada modesta para una regi\u00f3n que necesita generar empleo a gran escala.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las dos econom\u00edas m\u00e1s grandes de la regi\u00f3n, Brasil y M\u00e9xico, enfrentan condiciones financieras internas apretadas, poco margen fiscal para estimular el crecimiento y la incertidumbre derivada de la guerra comercial entre Estados Unidos y sus socios. Ambas potencias tienen una exposici\u00f3n directa a las pol\u00edticas arancelarias de Washington que limita su capacidad de recuperaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Colombia, cuya di\u00e1spora en Canad\u00e1 es numerosa, tambi\u00e9n recibi\u00f3 esta semana un pron\u00f3stico revisado a la baja por parte del FMI. La instituci\u00f3n redujo sus expectativas de crecimiento para el pa\u00eds, citando condiciones financieras m\u00e1s dif\u00edciles y menor inversi\u00f3n. La demanda interna sigue siendo el principal motor de la econom\u00eda colombiana, impulsada en parte por el empleo y precisamente por las remesas.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>El conflicto en medio oriente en el panorama regional<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El conflicto en Ir\u00e1n y el bloqueo del Estrecho de Ormuz han afectado al panorama regional de forma diferente seg\u00fan cada pa\u00eds. Las econom\u00edas importadoras netas de energ\u00eda, como varias naciones de Centroam\u00e9rica y el Caribe, enfrentan facturas energ\u00e9ticas m\u00e1s altas y un menor impulso para crecer. Los pa\u00edses exportadores de petr\u00f3leo y gas, como Brasil y Venezuela, podr\u00edan verse favorecidos si los precios elevados se mantienen a lo largo del a\u00f1o.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Las remesas podr\u00edan cambiar<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Banco Mundial se\u00f1ala que las remesas siguen siendo una fuente de ingreso fundamental para Centroam\u00e9rica y el Caribe. Pero una desaceleraci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica en los pa\u00edses de destino, incluido Canad\u00e1, que ha tenido un mercado laboral estable aunque fr\u00e1gil en lo que va del a\u00f1o podr\u00eda traducirse en transferencias m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as o menos frecuentes.
