A\u00f1adi\u00f3, que afortunadamente los beb\u00e9s se recuperaron, sin embargo, si sus madres se hubieran vacunado y estuvieran protegidas, estas infecciones podr\u00edan haber sido evitadas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casos de sarampi\u00f3n cong\u00e9nito son poco comunes, no obstante, no deja de ser preocupante debido a que puede causar da\u00f1os al feto en desarrollo. Estas complicaciones pueden ser graves para el beb\u00e9, como defectos cong\u00e9nitos y la muerte fetal, as\u00ed como provocar un aborto espont\u00e1neo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El doctor Moore, confirm\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n la muerte de un beb\u00e9 prematuro contagiado con sarampi\u00f3n, que adem\u00e1s sufri\u00f3 otras complicaciones m\u00e9dicas graves no relacionadas con el virus. Este \u00faltimo caso ha sido registrado en el suroeste de la provincia.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>El caso de Ontario<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las autoridades sanitarias de la provincia, han reportado desde octubre, cuando comenz\u00f3 el brote, m\u00e1s de dos mil casos. De estos, 40 casos se dieron en mujeres embarazadas que se infectaron con el virus del sarampi\u00f3n, apenas dos de ellas hab\u00edan sido vacunadas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seg\u00fan un art\u00edculo publicado por la Dra. Catherine Varner, en el Canadian Medical Association Journal, las mujeres embarazadas est\u00e1n siendo muy perjudicadas por el brote de sarampi\u00f3n en el pa\u00eds. Ellas suelen correr un riesgo mayor en caso de enfermedades contagiosas, dijo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por otro lado, el Dr. Kieran Moore, reconoci\u00f3 que en Ontario, la gran mayor\u00eda de mujeres embarazadas est\u00e1n completamente vacunadas. Las complicaciones se est\u00e1n presentando en un peque\u00f1o grupo de personas que han optado por no vacunarse, lo ideal ser\u00eda que todas las personas se vacunaran, tenemos que trabajar m\u00e1s en ese tema, declar\u00f3 el especialista.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Las recomendaciones m\u00e9dicas<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De acuerdo con el Comit\u00e9 Asesor de Inmunizaci\u00f3n las mujeres embarazadas no vacunadas deber\u00edan recibir una dosis de inmunoglobulina en un plazo de seis d\u00edas si han estado expuestas al sarampi\u00f3n. Por otro lado, durante el embarazo, no se recomienda la vacuna v\u00edrica (SPR), pues contiene un virus vivo que podr\u00eda, en tesis, transmitirse al feto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kieran Moore, admite que se enfrentan dificultades para convencer a las personas, pues normalmente una persona que se opone a las vacunas, tampoco va a querer aceptar recibir la inmunoglobulina.
