Entre las razones aludidas por el banco, est\u00e1 la amenaza de imposici\u00f3n de aranceles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El recorte de un cuarto de punto era el esperado por la mayor parte del mercado, sin embargo es menor que los dos anteriores que alcanzaron medio punto porcentual. A pesar de la desaceleraci\u00f3n de la flexibilizaci\u00f3n, es el sexto corte consecutivo, desde junio pasado.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta disminuci\u00f3n del ritmo de los recortes, ya hab\u00eda sido anunciada en diciembre, por el gobernador del Banco de Canad\u00e1, Tiff Macklem. La flexibilizaci\u00f3n de la tasa de inter\u00e9s, se inici\u00f3 debido a que la inflaci\u00f3n hab\u00eda vuelto a estar bajo control, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 el gobernador.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De acuerdo con Tiff Macklem, las autoridades monetarias contin\u00faan monitoreando el desempe\u00f1o de la inflaci\u00f3n, no obstante, reconoce que ya se est\u00e1 sintiendo el impacto de los recortes, pues las tasas de inter\u00e9s m\u00e1s bajas incentivan el gasto en los hogares. Asimismo, el gobernador declar\u00f3 que espera un fortalecimiento de la econom\u00eda canadiense.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Sobre los aranceles<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Una guerra comercial no es deseada por las autoridades monetarias, que est\u00e1n analizando las posibles consecuencias si efectivamente se cumplen las amenazas del gobierno estadounidense. De ser inevitable, es muy probable que Canad\u00e1 caiga en una recesi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aranceles del 25 por ciento, aplicados por ambos pa\u00edses provocar\u00edan durante el primer a\u00f1o, una ca\u00edda del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) canadiense del 2,5 por ciento y durante el segundo a\u00f1o el descenso alcanzar\u00eda el 1,5 por ciento del PIB, lo que ser\u00eda una recesi\u00f3n.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al mismo tiempo, la imposici\u00f3n de aranceles en ese porcentaje, provocar\u00eda una inflaci\u00f3n en ambos pa\u00edses.
