La acusaci\u00f3n fue de haber empujado a un oficial de polic\u00eda mientras intentaba hacerle preguntas a la ministra, Menzies alega que s\u00f3lo hac\u00eda su trabajo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El local de los hechos fue el estacionamiento de un centro comercial, testigos afirman que un oficial se habr\u00eda interpuesto en el camino del periodista cuando se acercaba a la viceprimera ministra. El oficial afirma que David Menzies lo agredi\u00f3 y por ello se vio obligado a arrestarlo, m\u00e1s adelante lo liberaron y retiraron los cargos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La ministra Chrystia Freeland, ha recibido constantes amenazas en el pasado y ha estado en tensas confrontaciones p\u00fablicas, por esa raz\u00f3n su seguridad ha sido reforzada. La Real Polic\u00eda Montada de Canad\u00e1 (RCMP), es responsable por su seguridad, apoyada por cuerpos policiales regionales, en este caso particip\u00f3 la Polic\u00eda Regional de York.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Menzie y su largo historial de confrontaciones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El periodista David Menzies, es considerado una figura altamente confrontativa y tiene en su historial innumerables enfrentamientos con la polic\u00eda y con los cuerpos de seguridad del Estado. El a\u00f1o 2021, fue detenido en Toronto, por el equipo de protecci\u00f3n del primer ministro Justin Trudeau por causar desorden y provocar incidentes violentos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ese mismo a\u00f1o, en un evento con la actual l\u00edder conservadora adjunta, Melissa Lantman, tambi\u00e9n fue arrestado en Thornhill, Ontario, por realizar preguntas homof\u00f3bicas relacionadas con la orientaci\u00f3n sexual de la pol\u00edtica. Asimismo, el entonces l\u00edder conservador, Andrew Scheer, pidi\u00f3 que lo retiraran de un evento de campa\u00f1a el 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Posibles acciones legales<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El activista pol\u00edtico y propietario de Rebel News, Ezra Levant, afirm\u00f3 v\u00eda correo electr\u00f3nico, que tanto \u00e9l como Davis Menzies, consideran emprender cargos legales contra la polic\u00eda.
